CULINARY DELIGHTS FROM THE RED LIGHTS

A cookbook from the soiled angels of America's frontier west. With tongue in cheek, the author takes a look at 19th century recipes of the American frontier. These old recipes have not been tried by the author and consequently carry no guarantee. They have been passed down and garnered from a variety of sources. The sources of these delights claim they are (or were) very tasty. Opposite each recipe is a story, fact or observation about prostitution.

GOOD TIME GIRLS’ GUIDE TO GOLD RUSH CUISINE

This cookbook combines stories and facts about Yukon-Alaska gold rush prostitutes with recipes of the period. This book provides a unique glimpse of the life and times of the soiled doves who operated in the great north country. Each tale is accompanied by a recipe of the time.  From the start of the far north gold rush there were always good time girls close by the miners. They sometimes cooked for the miners and most likely the recipes in this book were used and enjoyed by both miners and their good time girl companions.

THE PRAIRIE PIONEER PROSTITUTES’ OWN COOKBOOK

Discover 19th century recipes of the prairie pioneer prostitutes – sportin’ women who traveled from the relative safety and comfort of the East to the frontier West.  These soiled doves came to dispense their favors to the hard working (and hard playing) men of the American frontier. The Prairie Pioneer Prostitutes’ Own Cookbook is the second cookbook by the author. None of the recipes have been tried by the author and consequently carry no guarantee, but all carry the flavor of the old West. Opposite each recipe is a story, fact or observation about prostitution.

SOILED DOVES CIVIL WAR COOKBOOK

This book combines stories of prostitution with recipes of the period. The book provides a unique glimpse into the life and times of the soiled doves during the Great War.  Prostitutes operated in a variety of settings during the war. The ladies could be found among the army troops on both sides of the war. Others were found in drinking establishments, hotels, cribs, bordellos and on the streets. Some worked on boats, in caves, in makeshift tents, even in the woods and fields. They often cooked for the men and most likely the recipes in this book were used and enjoyed by both the soldiers and their soiled dove companions.
