Looking Back on My Path Volume VI
Foreign Words to Our Folks
I was reading the Sunday newspaper and I got to thinking that there are many words surrounding our technical devices that our parents would not have the slightest idea as to their meaning. Our technology has advanced so quickly and in such complex ways that we have had to create words and phrases to describe things. As they have been introduced into society, most of us have learned their meaning and thus used them as regular parts of our vocabulary. Most have learned these new words with little difficulty. Here is a sample of a few words I picked out of one article from my Sunday paper. And at 75-winters-old, I know what all of them mean!
